Being part of the military family allows you to meet so many different people. Megan was someone I met in my first year in Alaska, and it has been such a blessing knowing her! As well as meeting many amazing people, there is always the "goodbye" that you know is coming, whether in a few months or a couple of years. I have been so lucky to photograph the Silva family a total of four times! The first session was an engagement session, next was maternity, last summer I did their first ever family photos, and then just last week I did their last set of photos in Alaska! These two rocked their session! April is a pretty dead month here in Fairbanks, Alaska. It's muddy, wet and the trees haven't started blooming yet so everything looks pretty dreary. My father-in-law's life long dream has been to visit Alaska, and this summer he was finally able to do it! Our goal is to see and do as many things as we can while we are here in Alaska, because we most likely will never come back. So this summer one of our trips was to Seward, Alaska. This is about 500 miles south of Fairbanks (around 9 hours of driving time with stops). For those of you who don't know, Anchorage is about 6 1/2 hours away from Eielson and there is only one road with very few stops in between.
