On Tuesday August 9th, 2016, we woke up early and started our journey to Anchorage. We've been to Anchorage at least 5 times, BUT have never taken the Glen Allen highway and had heard it was beautiful. So that's what we did and it was beautiful indeed. Alaska never ceases to amaze my husband and I with it's vastness, stunning views, and majestic mountains. I never feel that my photographs do the state justice. But anyways, we stopped at a couple of spots to admire the views and finally made our way to the Matanuska Glacier, where we got out and we were able to walk onto the glacier, going up to the tounge of it! It was super neat walking on top of the ice, listening to the water streaming underneath of us in the cracks of the glacier.
