For Leighlyn's third birthday we decided that we wanted to take a trip! As a family, we've decided that we'd rather make memories than buy toys and it was so awesome! Genoa has the largest aquarium in Europe and we thought Leighlyn would really enjoy going and seeing all of the sea life! On Sunday March 4th after church we started our drive. It was about 5.5 hours away and once we got there it was dark so we checked into our hotel and settled in for the night. The next morning we walked to the Aquarium which was right across the street! We spent all morning there. Leighlyn and Edyn both loved it! We ate lunch at the Aquarium and then we headed over to the Bigo Panoramic Lift which was included in our Aquarium Ticket! It lifts up 40 meters above the sea and gives a 360 degree view of the city.
The next day we drove about 20 minutes to Boccadasse which was a little coastal town. We explored, ate some seafood and Leighlyn got to go right up to the ocean which she was really excited about. Once we were done there we drove back to Genoa and explored the city a little more, heading to the more well known Piazza De Ferrari and the House of Christopher Columbus. After that we found gelato place that had THE BEST gelato flavor EVER. I haven't been to a Gelato place since that has the flavor I had hahaha. On Wednesday the 7th we headed home. It was a great trip and we were so blessed to be able to see a new part of Italy and to give Leighlyn a fun Birthday trip!
